Zainab Salbi
Zainab Salbi, founder and CEO of Women for Women International, inspires and moves audiences with the passion of her personal experience as a survivor of war and her dedication to rebuilding communities after war. Salbi and Women for Women have received a number of honors, including the Conrad N. Hilton Humanitarian Prize, the world’s largest humanitarian award, Forbes magazine’s Trailblazer Award and recognition at a White House ceremony by President Bill Clinton. Since 1993, Women for Women International has mobilized more than 125,000 women and men in 105 countries worldwide to reach out and support women survivors of war - one woman at a time.

 

Salbi is the author of Between Two Worlds: Escape from Tyranny: Growing Up in the Shadow of Saddam and The Other Side of War: Women’s Stories of Survival and Hope, and a regular guest on media outlets, including: the BBC, NPR, ABC News Good Morning America, NBC Nightly News, CNN, PBS, Al Jazeera, The New York Times, The Washington Post, and Newsweek.
